To treat Complex Trauma we need more than familiarity with dissociation, traumatic memory, and attachment wounding… We need skill!
This webinar trains trauma-informed therapists to bridge what they already grasp about trauma into greater success rates in session. We will focus on getting interventions to actually work, including EMDR modified protocols, Parts Work adaptations and blends (Mapping, IFS, Dissociative Table, etc.), Psychoeducation and Attachment repair strategies. The Bridge Course is designed to enhance the clinician’s ability to actually treat dissociation, discern when and how to introduce metacognitive interventions, time orientation, trauma processing, and attachment repair, as well as how to resolve obstacles and establish a therapeutic frame that keeps clients moving forward without overwhelming them. We will visit and move beyond theory and assessment to solidify the competency needed to make a difference.
This training is designed to build on the information presented in the ‘At The Crossroads of Trauma Therapy’ training. It addresses (but is not limited to):
- When and how to transition between interventions/modalities
- Recognition and resolution of obstacles
- Orientation toward avoidance of interventions
- Application of the stabilization menu to marginalized and oppressed populations
- Strengthening of the therapeutic frame for better results (collaboration, attunement, boundaries)
- Essential guidelines for professional growth
The curriculum for this course is designed for intermediate-advanced level mental health professionals who have either taken the full ‘At the Crossroads of Trauma Therapy’ training or an equivalent trauma-informed course on the connection between trauma, attachment wounding, and dissociation. This is not an introductory course or an EMDR Basic training. Clinicians will need a basic understanding of the neurobiology of trauma, trauma processing, parts work, and attachment repair.
