Why I created these tools

Every book, training, and therapeutic tool you'll find here grew out of my search for more effective ways to understand and treat complex trauma and dissociation. That search transformed my entire approach to therapy, revealing new ways of understanding symptoms — and new, more effective ways of treating those symptoms. Each tool on this site was created to help you get there too, with more ease and efficiency than you might find on your own.

My hope is that you'll find something that makes a real difference, whether it's a single resource that fills a gap or a whole new way of understanding complex trauma.

I'm Rachel Walker, a licensed marriage and family therapist in the San Francisco Bay Area. For almost 30 years, I've specialized in treating complex trauma and dissociation — through clinical work with survivors, by providing training and consultation to clinicians — and by designing trauma recovery tools!

The NeuroPeeps have become an integral part of our trauma-informed work at Family Matters of Marin.
